I've said it before and I'll say it again, this won't be the last time you will see this beautiful woman on my journal. This is just a taste of what is to come from this session. I cannot wait to get the film back and see what we created. Sarah and I decided to have some fun yesterday. We went a little crazy outside in the trees and the wind. In the distance a storm was brewing, but somehow it held off. I think it knew that we needed this weather. We needed the light. WE NEEDED this session to happen NOW.
You see, Sarah is stunning. She is incredibly beautiful both inside and out. She is kind and loving. She is generous and silly. She is sexy and living life as fully as she can. But she is fighting for her life. She is at war with this ugly thing called cancer.
My goal is for you to see this post as not just a pretty picture, but a lesson. Not all cancer looks like this. She doesn't look sick. She doesn't look like she is in pain. But the awful truth is that Sarah has stage four cancer and it sucks. She is taking it day by day and what an incredible day we had! I hope she was able to forget her fight for a while and just feel beautiful. She certainly is to me and it is always an honor to photograph her. I know that in those few hours that we spent yesterday that I forgot. I was lost in the moment of laughing and being silly and spending a fantastic day with my friend.
Lastly, I urge you to please go and donate to the Ocular Melanoma Foundation today. You can visit Sarah's blog to find out more ways to help in this cause. Feel free to share this with your friends, your family and anyone who will listen. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
