We started out at the beautiful Black Swan Books in Historic downtown Staunton, VA. The sun soaked book store was the perfect backdrop for these two. They are comfortable and at home in a book store setting. Dustin had proposed with her ring hidden in a lovely false book, so it's even more fitting to have their session here. I cannot wait to photograph them next weekend on their wedding day!
Caitlin + Sam are getting married next weekend! I am looking forward to photographing these two again. They are both so easy going and natural in front of the camera and it translates into their photos. We had a blast taking my 4x4 across their friends farmland. I can't get enough of the colors from their beautiful fall session last year.
In exactly ONE WEEK these two love birds will be getting hitched at the stunning Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards, but these two call New York City their home. I headed up to the big apple and we had a blast traipsing all over the city. I am thrilled to have their beautiful engagement session featured on Style Me Pretty Tri State Blog today! Please head on over to see some of the magic that happened this past May and leave some love in the comments on SMP for these almost newlyweds!
Caitlin + Karl had such a sweet engagement session. I loved their warm energy. They really LOVE Richmond, Virginia and they took me to some great spots for their session. I adored 23rd & Main Kitchen and Taproom with it's rough wall and gorgeous light. I am looking forward to working with these two again!
This is one of my favorite engagement sessions from last year. You have already seen their spectacular wedding on these pages. (I'm a little backwards here. Trying to catch up and get a schedule!) Jenny and Jeremiah have an easy kind of love. It radiates from them like a warm spring day. Here's to dreaming of warmer weather! We started our day at Monticello where Jeremiah schooled us on heirloom plants from the gardens. Then we trekked up to Carter's Mountain for a quick trot with their adorable dog and managed to catch a spectacular sunset for the grand finale. This is the epitome of engagement shoots. It has it all. Natural beauty, gorgeous light, awesome outfits and LOVE. Glorious, wonderful LOVE!
When Jamie told me that she had found a graffiti wall with kissing robots I knew their engagement session was going to be so much fun! I loved the colors that they picked, the locations they took me to and the awesome props Jamie made! This session was so easy and full of love and positive energy. I can't believe I have to wait until next October to hang out with these two again!
Love, love, LOVING this fall engagement session at Montpelier! Sneak peek with more to come...
I always love when I can make it to a couple's rehearsal. This time in particular it was special because I hadn't had a chance to meet the groom yet! We were able to sneak in a mini engagement session at Veritas before Kate + Andrew were whisked away for their rehearsal dinner in Charlottesville. More to come very soon from their stunning spring wedding!

I am thrilled to have an engagement session featured on Grey Likes Weddings today! It was such a lovely session down by the Georgetown Canals. Head on over and take a peek! Many thanks to Summer + Jean for the beautiful feature and Meghan + Matt for being such a wonderful couple to photograph!
Erin + Bryan are getting married this weekend! I just love how they styled themselves for their outdoor shoot. If you want to know what to wear for your engagement session, pay attention to this post! I loved their sweet style and the location was just gorgeous. Couple that with amazing light and we have ourselves a successful engagement shoot!
